SSL certificates enable data encryption on the internet and allow it to be transmitted safely between the web server and the browser. With SSL, your website can use the HTTPS protocol and will display a padlock in the end user’s browser to indicate a secure connection.
Although all SSL certificates protect and validate your data, the level of security and validation they provide varies. Standard SSL (Validare Domeniu) are the simplest and most common SSL certificates. Certificatele OV (Organisation Validation) and Certificatele EV (Extended Validation) also authenticate the identity of the company or organization that owns the certificate, providing a higher level of trust for end users.
Certificatele EV provide the highest level of validation and security and will display the company or organization name in the address bar. This is an immediate visual cue that visitors can use to see whether additional measures were taken to validate the site they are visiting — which is why many large companies and organizations choose EV certificates.
